ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s still winter, but registration has opened for this spring’s Day of Caring, the largest single-day volunteering event across the Rochester region.
Agencies can register online here to take part in Day of Caring on Thursday, May 21. It’s organized by the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes. The event aims to bring together co-workers, neighbors, friends, and families to impact the community.
Day of Caring spans Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, Livingston, and Genesee counties. In past years, thousands of volunteers across nearly 200 workplaces have partnered with local nonprofits. Nonprofits that want to take part are encouraged to register before March 2, when volunteer sign-ups open.
The United Way says registering early ensures that projects are ready and matched with volunteers. May 7 is the deadline to order t-shirts for volunteers.
