The new $3.4 million bridge in Fairport is now open

FAIRPORT, N.Y. — A major bridge project in Fairport has been completed, state transportation officials said. The new $3.4 million bridge replacement along Route 250 over Thomas Creek is now officially open.

The new span replaces a structure that dated back to 1934. It improves safety and resiliency with upgrades such as new steel railing, a new waterline, and more accessible curb ramps.

“This bridge replacement project along State Route 250 in the heart of this picturesque village has paved the way for a safer and more vibrant community and provided protection for the Thomas Creek watershed and wetlands. I am thrilled that this project will continue to foster connections for residents and visitors alike,” said Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez.

The project also ties into Fairport’s larger Main Street improvements, from the Main Street Streetscape Project.
