Wild Card Preview: Buffalo Bills match up with Jacksonville Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, FL (WHEC) – The Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars meet on Sunday to determine who will move on to the Division Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.

The Bills enter the playoffs winning five of their last six games, while Jacksonville has won eight straight dating back to November.

For Buffalo, it might seem like a get-back type of game. In 2017, the year the Bills broke the ‘curse’ and finally made it back to the playoffs, they wound up losing to Jacksonville on Wild Card Weekend. Now, eight years later, they have a chance to show the Jaguars who belongs, and move on to the quarterfinals.

Important information:

  • Teams: Buffalo Bills (12-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (13-4)
  • Where: EverBank Stadium (Jacksonville, FL)
  • When: Sunday, Jan. 11, 1 p.m.
  • How to watch: CBS

Series history:

  • All-time record: Series tied, 10-10
  • Last game: Bills won, 47-10 (Sept. 23, 2024)
  • Longest winning streak: Bills (3), 1998-2003
  • Current winning: Bills (1), 2024-present

Player to watch: Tre White

This game might feel personal for Tre’Davious White.

For one, he was on the Buffalo Bills team that lost to Jacksonville all those years ago. For the most part, it’s a vastly different team, but White remembers. And you bet he’s going to want to get the latest playoff matchup against the Jags.

But also, with Maxwell Hairston likely out for Sunday’s game, White will have to play big and wil be called on to step up. The veteran has been playing better recently, and now has a chance to do it when it matters most.
