ARCADIA, N.Y. — The Fairville Volunteer Fire Department in Wayne County has announced the loss of one of its own on Monday morning.
Officials say a firefighter at the scene of a fire in the Town of Arcadia went into cardiac arrest. Newark-Arcadia emergency medical services says it responded to the fire on Fairville Maple Ridge Road just before 7 p.m..
Emergency medical technicians performed CPR on the firefighter who was taken to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. The name of the firefighter has not been released at this time.
