HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Three people were seriously injured in a head-on crash at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening on East River Road in Henrietta. One of them may have life-threatening injuries, according to the Henrietta Fire District.
Multiple agencies were on the scene assisting with rescue and cleanup at the crash, in which one of the drivers was “heavily entrapped,” according to the Henrietta Fire District. Firefighters used two sets of hydraulic rescue tools and rigging to separate the entangled vehicles and rescue the people. The extrication took nearly 40 minutes due to the extensive damage, according to the Fire District.
Three patients were transported to area hospitals, with at least one suffernt potentially life-threatening injuries. A portion of the road remains closed for investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and people are asked to avoid the area of East River Road between Jefferson Road and Bailey Road.
