Biden Administration, Middle Eastern Countries Seek Peace Plan for Israel and Palestinians

By The Media Line Staff

The Biden Administration, alongside several Middle Eastern nations, is actively working on a comprehensive peace plan aimed at resolving the long-standing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, according to The Washington Post. This plan, expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, outlines a clear timeline for the establishment of a Palestinian state but hinges on achieving a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and securing an agreement for the release of captives.

The urgent initiative aims to launch the peace agreement before Ramadan, starting March 10. Amid these diplomatic efforts, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have demanded an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza, particularly in light of Israel’s anticipated military action in Rafah.

In a recent development, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin engaged in discussions with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilian lives and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza ahead of any military operations. Additionally, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has committed to enhancing security and stability in northern Israel, promising the safe return of residents to their homes.

The White House’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, has expressed concerns over the failure to deliver flour shipments to Gaza as planned, urging Israel to meet its humanitarian obligations.
