

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Police said there was a shootout involving an officer on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on North Clinton Avenue.
Police approached a man on a bike who was suspected of crimes. The suspect dropped the bike. During a foot chase, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a shot. An officer fired back and hit the suspect.
The suspect is being operated on at Strong Memorial Hospital and has life-threatening injuries.
The officer was also taken to the hospital with a possible gunshot wound. The injury to the officer is not life-threatening.
