ROCHESTER, N.Y. — One of the more unique canned food drives returned to Rochester this weekend.
The 16th annual Canstruction Rochester canned food drive competition was held Saturday morning at the Strong Museum of Play. 13 teams built massive Sci-Fi themed structures out of canned food for this year’s theme “Cosmic Conquest: Rise of the Cans.”
The sculptures will be on display at Strong until Oct. 25, giving visitors the chance to to vote for this year’s People’s Choice Award.
After being on display, all the food will be donated to Foodlink.
“This is really a food drive, and at all times Foodlink needs help and they’re families that need food and this is a very fun way to get a lot of food raised for those who need it,” said Ken Glazer, president of Canstruction Rochester.
