RPD investigates after gunfire breaks out on Clifford Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police are investigating after someone fired shots on Clifford Avenue near Baron Street just after midnight on Monday.

RPD says the gunfire didn’t hit any people or property. Officers responded after getting a ShotSpotter alert and News10NBC’s photojournalist saw them put evidence markers on the street.

Police say that, during a separate investigation, they stopped a youth around Thomas and Weeger streets who had an illegally possessed gun. The person was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but police haven’t determined whether he’s connected to the Clifford Avenue investigation. Check back for any updates.
