Rochester native and Super Bowl champion Arthur Jones dies at 39

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester native and NFL defensive lineman Arthur Jones has died at 39.

Syracuse University, Jones’ alma mater, said he passed away Friday morning. He played for SU’s football team from 2005-09 before he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2010, and spent four seasons with the Ravens, even winning a Super Bowl with the team in 2012.

Jones went on to spend two years with the Indianapolis Colts, and played his final season with the Washington Commanders in 2017.

In a post on X, Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh, said Jones was “truly a remarkable person,” and “someone any coach would be proud to lead.”

The Colts also took to X to share their condolences about Jones’ passing.
