RFD: Video shows moment suspects ignite fire at home on Durnan Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Fire Department released footage showing suspects they say started a fire at a home on Durnan Street.

RFD says footage shows people intentionally starting fire at home

The video, from Sept. 5, captured the suspects walking to the house off-camera, followed by a burst of light, presumably from the fire, RFD says.

The video ended with the suspects running away. The fire department reported that a similar fire occurred at the same house on the night of Aug. 18. In both instances, gasoline was used to ignite the fires.

The man and his young daughter who reside in the home managed to escape safely both times.

Anyone with information that could aid the investigation is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
