Man pleads guilty in connection to 2024 North Goodman Street double murder

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The man accused of a double murder back in February 2024 has pleaded guilty.

Hector Ramos-Diaz, 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter in connection to the deaths of Frank Rosario Vazquez and Wahid Nazario.

Rochester Police say on Feb. 11, 2024, they found Vazquez and Nazario dead on North Goodman Street. Investigators say both victims got into an altercation with Ramos-Diaz inside a bar.

After being asked to leave, police say as the victims walked to their car, Ramos-Diaz fired at least 18 gunshots at them.

Shortly after the murders, police say Ramos-Diaz fled to Puerto Rico, where he is originally from. In March 2024, Ramos-Diaz was taken into custody in Puerto Rico by the U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force.

Ramos-Diaz was extradited back to the U.S. in July 2024.

Ramos-Diaz is set to be sentenced in January. He faces up to 25 years in prison, plus five years of post-release supervision to run concurrently.
