Justice Department seeks dismissal of charges against New York mayor, NY Times says

(Reuters) – The Justice Department on Monday told federal prosecutors in New York to drop the corruption charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams, the New York Times reported on Monday.

A political appointee of President Donald Trump intervened in the case, saying the indictment of Adams last year came too close to the 2025 mayoral primary election, the Times reported.
