Mobile DMV in Brockport
Monroe County’s mobile DMV will make a stop at the Brockport Village Court on 49 State St. on Wednesday. It will be there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help with many services. However, permit testing, along with enhanced license and REAL ID transactions, aren’t available at mobile DMV units.
The mobile DMV unit will make its next stop in East Rochester, then Ogden, then Clarkson. You can learn about the mobile DMV schedule here.
Free vaccines for dogs
People can get their dogs vaccinated for free on Wednesday at the David F. Gantt R-Center. Lollypop Farm is hosting its first in a series of events to get pets vaccinated and connect pet owners in underserved areas in Rochester with resources.
The events will also include free pet food and supplies. There will also be experts to provide guidance on behavior, training, and more. All events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until supplies last. Here’s the schedule:
- Wednesday, May 6 (dogs only) at the David F. Gantt R-Center
- Thursday, Aug. 20 (cats only) at the Hochstein School
- Thursday, Sept. 3 (dogs only) at the Connected Communities Neighborhood Hub
- Tuesday, Oct. 6 (dogs only) at the People’s Pantry
Last year, Lollypop Farm gave out 2,000 vaccines, 65% more compared to last year. It also gave out nearly 6,000 pounds of pet food across five community pet care events.
National Bike to School Day
Some students across the region will bike to school on Wednesday for the annual National Bike to School Day. It kicked off with a community bike ride from the Rochester Museum and Science Center to Francis Parker School No. 23, including an escort from the Rochester Police Department.
News10NBC spoke with the transportation nonprofit Reconnect Rochester about the growing number of “bike buses”, groups of parents and other volunteers who bike with children to school.
