GATES, N.Y. — Gates police are investigating after a woman was found dead near Lee Road and the Erie Canal on Tuesday evening.
Police responded to the area around 7:30 p.m. on June 2 after someone called to report an unresponsive person who was unconscious and not breathing. Officers found an adult woman deceased when they arrived.
Gates Police Chief Robert Long said the circumstances surrounding the incident are being treated as suspicious. An active investigation is underway, but no additional information is available at this time.
