ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The results are in for the Canandaigua City School District’s new mascot. They’re now the Canandaigua Gray Wolves.
More than 5,000 votes came in for the final survey. The choices were the gray wolves, bears, cardinals, or no name. Gray wolves came out on top.
They used to be the Canandaigua Braves.
But all school mascots associated with indigenous people have been banned by the New York Board of Regents.
